We've been livin' life inside a bubble... - CP
The LU relations to this line are not what I intend to blog about this time around. It's actually something refreshingly positive. I recently began working in a satellite library located inside a recreation center not too far from campus. I'm only there two hours a day, two days a week, to help elementary school kids with their homework. But when the kids are done, my job is to straighten up the shelves in the library. I was browsing through a row almost entirely composed of Dr. Seuss books today when I remembered that reading was my first love.
First, it was Dr. Seuss, then it was Beverly Cleary. Next it was "The Babysitters Club" series, then R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike. S.E. Hinton, "Encyclopedia Brown." Madeline L'Engle. Oh, and let us not forget "Sweet Valley High" and "Sweet Valley University." There was so much great stuff out there. There was rarely a time that I picked up a novel I didn't grow to love.
It was great to travel away from my adult problems and back to a pleasant area of my childhood. I haven't gotten to do much for fun reading since I became an "adult," but my reading of Seuss's Daisy Head Maizy made me promise myself to make time for doing so for now on.
Real life calls, so I must go now, but maybe when I return, I'll have some book review for you, my ever-faithful audience.
Till next time...
