::groans::
I spent most of today with my momma and her momma at school trying to fix up the icky walls in my classroom. We got some work done, but progress is happening only in baby steps. Looking at that classroom does not lead me to believe that I really have spend four half-days in setting up. That said, though, we did make some progress, and had I been alone I would not made nearly as much.
The rest of this week, I have training for new teachers, and all next week I have staff orientation activities. Next Friday is the only calendar work-day for teachers to set up. Hopefully this helps you understand why I've been freaking out so much and have been spending more time at school (probably) than most other teachers have. One day just isn't enough to turn my dreary, jail-cell-esque classroom into a cheery learning environment. So I'll be using lunch times until our work-day to get most of the stuff done (because I'll be needing to devote much of the work-day to stealing and quickly implementing other teachers' ideas).
P.S.: The reason I am groaning is I have spent much of the day bent over while drawing, cutting, and gluing. My poor, old back ain't used to that kind of posture, and Gwen says every day will be like this (until I get used to it, which I have a feeling will be a long while).
