Kind of like my life is like a sequel to a movie where the actors' names have changed? -Mayer

Apparently, I don't know how to take a compliment. Yesterday, I wore a dress to church (highly uncommon for me), and someone commented that I looked nice. Instead of saying "Thank you" and smiling like a normal person (which apparently I'm not), I had to inform the complimenter that it was the only thing that didn't need ironing. The exact same thing happened this morning (same dress, different setting). What the heck? I need to learn to say "Thank you," and move along. Also, I think maybe I'm kinda crochety...

It's so hard to accept compliments. It's almost a discipline.

I'm posting because I have to ask. Your name-- is it very popular where you live? We have a daughter Querida-- and we didn't learn the correct pronounciation until she was five. But we don't live in a very diverse area either (especially compared to other places I've lived and other places my husband has lived. It's like once your family moves here, the economy is such that you may never be able to afford to leave.)

Anyway, had to ask, especially because I could tell you were a sister in Christ. Love your blog!

My name was a family name, and your daughter is the only other person I've heard of who has it. I'm the third Querida in my family, and I'm not even Hispanic.

My Querida wants to know what you teach. We've never known any other Querida(s) either. We don't have it as a family name, we found it in a baby name book, learned it meant "Beloved". Amy means beloved, so I went with that name and gave her a family middle name, Ann.
My email address is: Amytimmeyer@centurytel.net (btw)

What is your middle name? Who else in your family has that name?

Oh yeah, what do you teach?

Amy (and Querida Ann)
