Sunday dinner

I'd say it's time for Sunday dinners to make a comeback at my house, but I'm not sure they ever resided here to begin with. Come to think of it, Sunday might have been the only night my mother was consistent about making dinner when I was growing up (after I started cooking, that is). I broke out my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook earlier to think ahead to planning a menu for next week (easier on the budget, donchaknow?). And I discovered so many rich, hearty, slow cooker recipes that I definitely did not want to attempt to make or eat on consecutive days that I decided they should visit my kitchen on consecutive Sundays. Recipes I'm most excited about: Beef Bourguignon, Ranch Pork Roast, and Asiago Cheese Dip (I'm thinking fondu style). Recipes likely to appear soon on my cooking blog: http://www.latenightcooking.blogspot.com.

cashew-chicken! I'm gonna make it this weekend :) Funny thing - I didn't own a crock-pot before I married Matt, he did, though!

*chuckle* Sunday dinners (evenings rather) were the one meal my family made a tradition of keeping simple--like waffles and ice cream.
