Lots has been going on at the Duncalfes' house this week. For starters, I've actually stopped looking at the innumerable
things that need to be done around here and have actually gotten organized and begun doing them. I've decided to focus on one area each day (and written it on a calendar). It's worked surprisingly well. My always-multi-tasking-stay-at-home-mom-self has been able to focus and get 'er done, mostly because I know I already have a day alotted during the week to take care of the other stuff that would distract me from each day's goal. Want the boring details? Okay:
- Monday: De-clutter the kitchen table and the countertops, including paying bills
- Tuesday: Laundry
- Wednesday: Clean the room of the week (common areas are this week's focus, but the living room, kitchen, and hallway got taken care of while the bathrooms remained largely neglected)
- Thursday: Resumés ( the idea is that Hubby and I will have one day each week or two weeks to apply for jobs, and I'll use the time to look for freelance writing opportunities and write with them in mind - Ack!)
- Friday: Date night (no explanation needed, although it will include Robin Hood)
With all this productivity going on around the house, it's no wonder I've been something of a stranger here and on FB (which Hubby says is evil and has all but abandoned in favor of Twitter). I could use some prayer, faithful readers, that I'll be able to do something I love (writing) for pay (which would be exceedingly useful for our creative financial situation), without taking physical time away from my boys. I think it can work. But it'll take work, which takes time.
And that's where I've been.
