Pray for your friend? Surely Job's friends did.
Wonder aloud if your friend was praying for himself? If his relationship with God was in his heart or just for show?
The story of Job is usually a troubling one for me. And I know in the next few days I'll be reading about Job's final cry out to God asking, "Why," and God's booming response. But today, the verse that stands out is the one wherein job asks his wife, "Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?"
Indeed.

Yep....which friend would I have been? Has crossed my mind many times.
I find it interesting that God didn't punish or boom at Job's friends since they clearly had God's motives wrong.
I wonder, though, if it's because God knows how our fallen minds work and how it makes so much sense for man to see the world as a cause and affect powered system instead of a providential one. I think he gives us alot of grace for this fault.
The thing is - Job got the providential powered system right- and questioned the righteousness of that Providence. It appears that is a much bigger deal to God.
hummm - all this is just stream of consciousness thought. Hope you have a lovely trip!
