What Can Make Me Blog Again?

Several things, actually: grief, Neil Patrick Harris, and BFF B.

I feel like I should apologize first. I didn't realize I hadn't blogged since G's first day of school. Whoah. His first month or so of school was a little rocky, but after some collaboration with the principal and a major light bulb moment wherein I realized his problems were happening in the afternoon (when he should be napping), we adjusted his schedule so that I pick him up halfway through the day. His behavior since has improved muchly. And a collective sigh of relief was breathed.

I used to have a crush on Doogie Howser, MD. This crush did not end when his show did, or when I got married, or even when he began playing a slightly unsavory womanizer on "How I Met Your Mother." But the day Doogie (aka Neil Patrick Harris) showed up on the cover of some magazine with his partner and their twins, my heart broke a little. But Harris keeps a bit of a low profile on the personal front, so I was able to nurse what remained of my crush through his guest appearances on Glee. This morning, I had to put my sense of hope and schoolgirl crushiness away, thanks to his guest appearance as co-host on Live with [formerly Regis and] Kelly. He kept talking about "our kids" and using all these plural possessive personal pronouns, and I couldn't deny any longer that I have been crushing on him (however slightly) in vain. Ridiculous, I know, but I feel a sense of loss, much like the day William and Kate got married...
