On Solid Food

The American Pediatric Association recommends that babies have a diet of breastmilk or formula only until they are six months old, and that they continue to have milk or formula in their diets until they are at least a year old. So I was caught off guard when Andrew and I took Gabriel in for his four-month visit, and the pediatrician told us we could go ahead and start feeding him rice cereal. So I allowed myself to feel traumatized for about a week or two, and then Andrew and I bravely put together the little one's high chair and gave him his first taste of something other than his mommy's milk. ::Shock:: It's really not that bad. It turns out my baby looks pretty cute with rice cereal and a big, toothless grin all over his face.

It has to be said -- Gabriel is one of the cutest babies ever to be procreated! As if you weren't already aware... :)
