So I'm laying on my couch, half-sleep, watching "He's a Bully, Charlie Brown," on ABC, as I tend to do around this time of year. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but an advertisement for a holiday special called "Shrek the Halls." Any of you who really knows me, faithful readers, knows I have a HUGE problem with Shrek anyway. But who cares if ABC uses the character to boost their holiday ratings? I don't - except that the advertisement included the phrase, "Have a very merry Shrekmas!" Are you kidding me? So I fired off this email to ABC:
"I just saw an advertisement for "Shrek the Halls." I am beyond offended that your advertising department would remove the name of Christ from Christmas and replace it with Shrek, i.e.: "Have A Very Merry Shrekmas." Please remove this particular part of the advertisement from your TV spots immediately."
Seriously, people. Seriously!

That's probably why I don't watch TV - then again, I'm not sure its good to be so unaware of the moral/cultural/intelligent decline in our country.
