in the Diagnostic Clinic parking lot,
When you saw me pull a double stroller out of my car at 9 this morning, did you assume I'd taken my boys out in twenty-eight degree weather in order to make a social visit at the doctor's office? Is that why you told me it was "too cold to have those babies out"? Did you assume that because your hair is white that you know better than I do what's best for my children? Were you expecting them to run naked around the parking lot at any second? What part of the "we're in a doctor's office parking lot + young mom driving a minivan+ moving children out of car and into stroller to get into building as fast as possible" equation equaled "irresponsible mom who needs to be told it's cold outside" to you?
Do me a favor, well-meaning older lady I'll probably never see again: The next time you see a young mom who has her children out when you think she should be keeping them in, keep the thought to yourself.
Sincerely,
Responsible mom who had to get both kids out so she could take the little one to the follow-up visit his doctor requested

YOU TELL HER QUERIDA
it must have been the same old lady that yelled at my mom in wal-mart, because apparently my mom is irresponsible for turning away from her purse.
