An alphabetical approach

Our speaker at MOPS last Monday shared with us one of her very own shouldacouldawouldas: what if she had taken an opportunity to use letter-themed days she occasionally had at her house to teach her daughters spiritual truths?

Then she gave each table an index card with one letter on it and told us we had two minutes to come up with a verse, a (good) habit, and a character trait.

This got me to thinking. I'm often at a loss for ways to make faith and God more than church on Sundays and Bible stories in the evenings. I want to create this elusive environment for the boys, but I just haven't been able to grasp it. So, I thought I'd take our speaker's idea to go through the alphabet twice a year, using one letter each week to do those three things she gave us two minutes to come up with on the index card. Only, I decided to use Gabriel's name instead. So - ideally - by the time G's old enough to write his own name, an assortment of Bible verses and godly character traits will come to mind with each letter that he writes.

Staring tomorrow, right?
